There are fourteen major buildings found in Chaco Canyon... twelve of these buildings align precisely with significant components of the annual cycles of the sun and the moon (such as the major lunar standstill, the minor lunar standstill, etc.)... the construction of the major Chacoan buildings employed enormous quantities of materials... for example, 215,000 timbers - which were transported from distances of more than 80 kilometers away - were used in the major buildings in Chaco Canyon alone... to see a schematic of the Chacoan buildings, and the lunar and solar events and cycles with which they align, click here.
Archaeologists have been greatly puzzled by the discovery of beads and various other artifacts which have been discovered embedded in the walls of the various kivas found in Chaco Canyon... the artifacts found within the kivas' walls were native to Central America and South America - but not native to the Southwestern USA... to some archaeologists, this is proof that Chaco Canyon was a meeting place, where native peoples from Central America and South America came to exchange goods... but why would the beads be found embedded in the walls, and why would people from Central and South America travel so far just to exchange goods... we'll explore some stranger-than-fiction solutions to these mysteries, in Quiz No. 8...
According to J.C. Chalfant, shortly after asking for the demonstration, Pearl Kerwin looked up at the sky and pointed out a luminous UFO to J.C. - and the UFO then proceeded to streak straight across the sky, from the west, to just slightly past the midpoint of the horizon... it then streaked up at an angle of about 2 o'clock - without ever changing its staggeringly fast pace.... J.C. claimed that the UFO was going so fast that no ordinary airship could possibly have come anywhere near its speed... J.C. Chalfant was a tail gunner in B-25 bombers during World War II... thus, he knows quite a bit about "earthly" aircraft and their capabilities...
The Chacoan people constructed over 200 kilometers of roads (or, at least, they constructed what would appear to be "roads" to the casual observer)... these roads had widths of up to nine meters, and they were developed, mostly in a straight-line fashion, over distances of up to fifty kilometers... many of these roads were constructed directly through and over nearly impassable mountain ranges, an effort which was hardly conducive to making human travel to Chaco Canyon a simpler affair... their construction seemed to require extensive surveying and engineering skills, on the part of the Chacoans... to read more online information about the roads of Chaco Canyon, and to see pictures of the roads, click here.
Many archaeologists have insisted that a fairly large group of people must have lived in Chaco Canyon during the Chacoan culture's heyday (why else would they have built such huge, hard-to-create structures and roads, which align precisely with major lunar and solar events and cycles, if they didn't live there?)... this has often been theorized by "scientists" even though the area has no water sources (it's a desert), is completely barren, and the soil in the area will not produce crops... yet, many archaeologists still cling to this theory - which is pretty bizarre, largely due to the fact that numerous excavations and archaeological digs have been undertaken in the area over the years, and very few human skeletons have been unearthed...
The archaeological evidence unearthed in Chaco Canyon shows that the breakage of numerous vessels made of pottery occurred at many of the buildings... for many scientists, this can lead only to the conclusion that Chaco Canyon served as a center for seasonal ceremonial visitations by residents who lived in the outlying communities (who presumably crossed the rugged, mountainous, high desert terrain on foot several times a year, to come to Chaco Canyon - just to smash some pottery)... but how did these residents GET to Chaco Canyon... Greyhound wasn't running buses back then (wink)... seems like a long run for a short slide, doesn't it...
There is an etched, spiral-shaped, solar calendar found on a slab of rock on Fajada Butte, which is a tall outcropping of rock, found within the confines of Chaco Canyon... this solar calendar is highlighted by the striking appearance of "sun daggers", which fall on different segments of the spirals on the calendar, at different times of the year... the manifestation of these "sun daggers" coincides with significant solar events, such as the Summer Solstice... to see photographs of these "sun daggers", and the spiral calendar, and to read more information about this incredible phenomenon, click here.
At some point in the latter part of the 13th Century, A.D., the Chacoans disappeared... the same thing allegedly happened to the Aztecs, the Mayans, the Incas, and the Easter Islanders, among other cultures... there has been much scientific speculation throughout the years as to WHY the Chacoans (and their counterparts in other cultures) disappeared... disease, hunger, earthquakes, landslides, wars, climate changes - all have been offered as possible explanations... but in the end, none of them holds any water... we'll take a look at a stranger-than-fiction explanation as to WHY these cultures might have disappeared, in Quiz No. 8... but first let's take a look at some striking information about crop circles (crop pictograms), that dovetails intimately with the buildings of Chaco Canyon...
At the age of about eight years old, Pat Chalfant and her mother were driving in a car in Marion, Indiana, with all the windows rolled down, on an insufferably hot and humid night, thinking that it would cool them off enough so that they could eventually drive home and go to sleep, when, out of the blue, Pat suddenly heard beautiful music... but she was sure her mother hadn't turned the radio on... Pat was lying in the back seat in her pajamas at the time, and she suddenly sat up and said, "Did you turn on the radio?" To which her mother replied, "No." Pat lay back down and continued to listen to the beautiful stream of classical-sounding music, for mile after mile. This mysterious music continued to come to Pat again and again over the years, until Pat reached the age of twelve. In paranormal circles, this phenomenon is known as hearing the music of the spheres. ***NEW!->Online Psychic Development Classes...<-NEW!***
