A Deceased Relative Pays a Visit

 Anybody doing channeling with their eyes wide open and in full possession of all their waking senses? That's absolutely the cat's meow!Edgar Cayce advised the most famous medium of the 1930s through the 1940s, Eileen Garrett, that she could just as effectively do the channeling thing without the aid of the three entities who had always spoken through her as she channeled.
She agreed to try that and found that it was, indeed, a good way to go and equally effective. It eliminated the dangers and occasional discomfort of it all and she continued to do it that way for the rest of her life. I've been putting together stories that friends have told me about their psychic experiences and I'm about to put into my rapidly growing little book a story Rev. Frances Scher related to me in a phone conversation a few years ago. I have just been rereading it in her book, "Psychic or Medium?" - so here it is:
A number of years ago, when Spiritualist minister, Rev. Frances Scher, first began teaching Spiritualist (psychic) development classes in Auburn, California, one evening she was holding class in her home with about 15 students seated in a circle around the room. During the meditation part of class, she was walking around the outside of the circle, with most of the room in darkness, just a bit of light shining through curtained windows, and after a few moments of meditation, was quite shocked to discern the spirit form of a young lady who stood in the corner of the classroom.
 She said that as she was walking around the circle, she walked directly in front of the spirit person and her features were as visible as any physical being's. She was slight in build, her hair was dark and almost touching her shoulders and was turned under in a page boy style.
She said she was somewhat nervous but had to let all of the students know of this spirit's visible presence among them. She told me that she asked the class to open their eyes and look toward the side of the room where the spirit entity was standing.
As she quietly made this statement and each person opened his eyes and turned them to the corner where she stood, they gasped. She said it was immediately obvious to her that it was a first for everyone there. Frances asked if anyone there knew this spirit and one student replied that this entity was her aunt.
The spirit immediately took her place beside the student who had claimed her. Rev. Scher thanked her for coming to their class and asked her to stay as long as she wanted.
She then told her students to sit quietly and resume meditation.
She said she was so overwhelmed that she didn't think of asking the spirit any questions and that she didn't really see her leave. It was as if she simply had faded into the wall.
